The main objective of this project is to develop a groundbreaking platform technology that combines micro(bio)sensors and microfluidics in advanced biomonitoring of key biomarkers in various biological fluids, such as urine, sweat and saliva. The project partners will generate new knowledge in core technologies, such as biosensors and microfluidics, but also bioelectronics and digital technologies (artificial intelligence). The project partners can therefore develop advanced solutions for biomonitoring of both patients and healthy individuals. The main target groups are patients with severe acute disease and chronic diseases such as diabetes. These patients benefit from monitoring because of the risks they face. Diabetes plays an important role in this because of the expected increase in diabetes and complications of diabetes.
