The Dutch population is ageing, and the northern regions in particular are experiencing a very strong ageing population in the coming years. This causes problems in, among other things, healthcare and the labour market: more people suffer from chronic or old age disease, which increases the pressure on care, and there are not enough young people to be able to take over the open positions of retired older people. It is therefore important that people can continue to work as long and as healthy as possible, and not fall out prematurely due to, for example, overload in the workplace. In this project, a Groningen consortium of knowledge institutions and SMEs develops a solution that contributes to this.
