EMMHY (‘Emmie’) is an ambitious project that aims to realise green hydrogen research centre and production plant in 2025 at the former gas treatment site (GZI) of the NAM in Emmen. At the GZI, a number of parties are already working together under the banner ‘GZI Next’ on the development of green gas, green hydrogen and green electricity initiatives: the GZI Next Energy Hub. The EMMHY project is part of this Energy Hub and focuses on the implementation of the theme of green hydrogen. In this way, EMMHY contributes to accelerating the energy transition in Emmen and the surrounding area, including by using the reuse of the natural gas infrastructure and the knowledge and skills in related industries for the development of green energy technology and the supply of green hydrogen to local industry and mobility.
