The Virtual Cutting Room

The quality of the (biomedical) educational landscape is under pressureDaily, knowledge about anatomy is applied by many different healthcare professionals, and that basis is laid in biomedical studies. However, several trends in recent years have put pressure on the quality of this education: exponential increase in biomedical knowledge, choices in curricula, more focus on competences and lack of access to physical cutting rooms (this facility is currently only accessible to the “happy few”). This has a major impact on the quality of biomedical education and on healthcare, where these students and healthcare professionals ultimately put their acquired knowledge into practice. Innovation in (anatomy) education is therefore a must! Valorisation of high-quality knowledge and skills initiated from Groningen This project is led by the SME Enatom, based in Groningen, who works from the mission to make education more accessible through innovation.
