There are hundreds of kilometers of (free) pipelines in the Dutch soil. These pipes were mainly used as gas pipelines in the past
years but are currently no longer in use and need to be removed.
The traditional, and current, method of removing the pipes is digging a slot over the full
length of the pipe traceé. However, this is a costly, time-consuming, and environmentally unfriendly method in which large
social and ecological impacts occur. Wells & Pipeline solution center B.V. has developed a new technique
in which pipes can be removed slotless, and new
mantle tubes can be placed directly in the same working corridor. For the removal of pipes, a head hole of approximately 6m2 is dug
