PFAS disposal and destruction from (waste) streams PFAS pollution is a major problem due to the complexity of the disposal and the health risks. In this project, a gasification technique developed by Blue Revo (using Wetsus and Van Reel) is being (re)developed for sewage sludge to remove and destroy PFAS, aimed at local processing. This localization has the additional advantage that the transport of sewage sludge to a processing location far away becomes obsolete. The process to be developed will gas sewage sludge at a temperature of 700-1200 degrees and thus completely break down the PFAS in the sludge. The result is a solution that is not only locally applicable to the PFAS problem, but also improves the efficiency of sewage sludge treatment. This puts the Northern Netherlands forward as an essential hub for this environmentally friendly progress, in which sustainability and efficiency go hand in hand.share on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
