In this demonstration and test project, energy vapour walls are being further developed at various locations. By welding steel pipes on the traditional sheet pile wall and circulating a liquid through the pipe, the steel sheet pile wall turns into a very large plate exchanger with which heat is extracted and/or released from surface water (aquathermy) and the subsoil (soil energy). In combination with a heat pump, the energy vapour wall ensures a sustainable energy supply (heat and cooling) of the built environment. In the Proof of Concept set-up (PoC) in the hamlet of De Zweth, it has been shown that a sheet pile wall of limited dimensions can provide sufficient energy for a residential house.
