Rotterdam Offshore Group (ROG) provides maintenance, repair, conversion and (de)mobilization services for seagoing vessels such as tankers, container ships, general cargo ships, and offshore vessels in the Waalhaven Rotterdam. A shore-side electricity installation of a total of 1.25 MW with connections for two to three berths can ensure that virtually all vessels and common combinations of vessels berthing at ROG can switch off their engines on board. Because ROG already has solar panels on two roofs, part of the locally generated green electricity will be delivered directly to the ships. This project therefore potentially delivers a nitrogen reduction of 24 tonnes/year, a CO2 reduction of 2154 tonnes/year, and in addition a noise reduction and particulate matter reduction for nearby homes, businesses and staff.
