STA-OP Ovarian cancer is one of the deadliest cancers in women. The treatment consists of a combination of chemotherapy with many side effects and major surgery. Through the ‘STA-OP’ project, we aim to develop a targeted, more tailor-made therapy that will preserve the longevity and quality of life for these women. In this project we will use a new technique (OncoSIGNal) to look at which cancer growth stimulating activities are located in the cell. Once it is clear which activity(s) are too high active, a specific drug can be given to inhibit this activity and thus also inhibit cancer growth. If this project succeeds and it can be demonstrated that through this technology a good drug choice can be made to inhibit a cancer in growth, then this principle is also applicable to other cancer types and possibly earlier in treatment. This allows people to be treated faster and more specifically.share on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
