The project creates climate innovation platforms in neighbourhoods in which residents, knowledge institutions, governments, NGOs and industry jointly innovate and experiment with climate adaptation to preserve and improve: the quality of life in residential areas; climate-resilient ecology and biodiversity; closed water cycles. At the heart of the project is a wide range of social and physical/infrastructure innovations. Resulting in a proof-of-concept for climate-adpative neighbourhoods that can be broadly translated into regional policy: conclusive and sustainable water cycle; climate-resilient ecological network; Prevention of Urban Heat Island Effect; increasing neighbourhood participation; improving social and road safety; increase nitrogen and particulate matter capture; Accessibility to affordable and healthy food.
