Liquid products sold in the supermarket (retail) are mainly in plastic bottles. These bottles are thrown away after use despite the fact that they could be used several times. Only 9% of these bottles are recycled. The collaboration between Fyllar B.V. and SmartSeal AS aims at the further development and demonstration of a filling machine and associated packaging that can be placed in supermarkets and with which empty packaging can be filled quickly, cleanly, safely and effectively. The accompanying packaging has a specific smart cap containing a valve so that the packaging with the cap can still be filled on it. As a result, problems such as leaks, tampering and overdose can no longer occur. The aim of this project is the efficient use of raw materials and the reuse of these raw materials in the manufacturing industry. In addition, the project creates employment and contributes to the wider economic strengthening of the region.
