High Fidelity Simulator

The project, a Limburg collaboration between Simurghy, GDO and the Maastricht University Medical Center, focuses on developing a state-of-the-art simulation platform for the training of cardiovascular surgeons. The platform offers a high-fidelity experience that makes it possible to realistically practice on artificial organs and personalized structures of the heart and large vessels printed on the basis of patient-specific data. The project aims at validation in a medical training environment of a prototype simulator that can mimic a range of heart diseases, supported by robust software and realistic haptic feedback. With the ambition to eventually reach Technology Readiness Level 8, the project culminates in the development of a pre-commercial zero series with a low environmental footprint, while preparing for a successful market introduction under intellectual property protection.
