The iCV NextGen project is aimed at the development of an advanced heating system to make social rental homes in the Netherlands natural gas-free. The project is led by HeatLeap, with partners Dejatech, Innotractor and BXS, and supports housing corporations Tiwos and Ressort Wonen that provide housing for pilot studies. Important aspects of the project include testing the technology in a realistic environment, optimizing energy efficiency, and evaluating occupant comfort. Academic partners such as MindLabs and The Green Village offer expertise in behavioural analysis and smart-grid integration, respectively. The project aims for a more sustainable future through substantial CO2 reduction and reduction of operational costs, making a significant contribution to the energy transition in the Netherlands.
