The ‘PDO: Best Of Both – the future of hybrid dairy drinks’ focuses on developing an innovative hybrid dairy drink that combines animal and plant proteins, based on Sorghum. Together with partners such as De Dobbelhoeve Melk B.V., Bob Holding B.V., Bamboo Brands B.V. and HAS green academy, the project strives for an environmentally friendly product that is comparable in taste and nutritional value to traditional milk. The project responds to the demand for sustainable dairy alternatives and uses locally grown Sorghum, which is more resistant to climate change. The development spans several phases, from ingredient combinations to scale-up, and also focuses on consumer awareness and acceptance. The project contributes to sustainable food innovations and economic growth in the south of the Netherlands.
