The BRAINS project focuses on the digital transition and further automation within the manufacturing industry. It is aimed at processing and analyzing data for advanced adaptations of machines and processes. For example, machines that independently make (autonomous) adjustments and self-learning process optimizations. Based on artificial intelligence, a data learning platform is developed and demonstrated in practice. The technological challenge here is mainly the robustness of the applications to be developed: reliability, continuous product quality and optimisation of the autonomous process. BRAINS builds on the results of PRISMA (ERDF project, October 2019 – April 2022). This project was mainly focused on the development of image technologies (camera images and sensors) and to use this to optimize a production process.
