In the initiative ‘Industrie 4.0 Noabers’ in Gelderland, a group of SMEs and technical educational institutions have found each other in their digitisation ambitions. Digitalisation is important to maintain a strong competitive position in the future. The challenge with this project lies in the lack of integration of the existing data infrastructure. Data, for example from the Internet of Things, is often still very fragmented. Linking or unlocking this data can only be done with very expensive custom software packages. This type of custom software is out of reach for most SME organizations. With the ORCHESTRATOR project, a new IT platform is designed and tested to solve this problem. This allows data from, for example, a production environment to be retrieved automatically by the software application. This makes data available to everyone centrally, at any place and at any time.
