In the ‘Thumbs up!’ project, the partners work together to further develop and scale up into an affordable and certified product of a hand-exoskeleton prototype. This so-called T-GRIP system moves the user's thumb using a small actuator attached to the hand. This allows someone with, for example, a high spinal cord injury to grab and release objects while retaining the sense of touch. Compared to existing systems, T-GRIP will soon distinguish itself as an affordable, lightweight, user-friendly, hygienic and custom-made hand exoskeleton.
