Circular water economy – development of innovative water recovery technology The partners in this project want to place a pilot plant for industrial use of wastewater at a sewage treatment plant. The focus is on the sustainable and circular use of freshwater. But also at a competitive cost with which the technology can be used in the market. For agriculture and industry, the treated water must comply with the new European legislation for re-use, but also with the expectations of end-users. The pilot plant purifies the waste water to the extent that it is suitable for this reuse. The wastewater is pre-treated with a so-called membrane bioreactor that separates sludge and water under pressure. It is then further purified by combining different purification techniques (ozonisation, activated carbon filtration and nanofiltration). The treated waste water is analysed for organic matter, nutrients, heavy metals and other contaminants.share on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
