Nygaia2 Biobased High-tech horticulture automatically good

With this project, the companies Maan Glueing Technologies, Klasmann-Deilmann Benelux and the knowledge institute Windesheim University of Applied Sciences are developing a production line for the biodegradable substrate plug. This is a biodegradable cone for horticulture in which seedlings or cuttings are grown. The Nygaia2 substrate plug is specifically developed for high-tech food horticulture, hydroponics and vertical cultivation. The Nygaia2 project is a successful further development of the REACT-EU project ‘Transition to a biobased High-Tech horticulture’. In the REACT-EU project, a pilot line has been developed at the project partner Maan in Raalte. In this project, it is converted into a demonstration line. The unique thing is that the production of the substrates takes place at the customer's premises. This makes a significant contribution to reducing transport emissions.
