CATHCOAT In the CATHCOAT project, a coated bloodstream catheter (Central Venous Catheter or CVK) is demonstrated and clinically validated in the Medical Spectrum Twente hospital. LipoCoat B.V. has developed a coating that reduces the adhesion of bacteria and proteins by up to 95% when using catheters and implants in hospitals. The use of medical devices such as catheters and implants poses risks such as infections. These infections, often caused by contamination by bacteria and proteins on the devices, are difficult to treat due to antimicrobial resistance. This project significantly reduces the risk of infection in medical devices.share on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
