In the Lodyt project, the so-called V-Box, a new communication technology for road transport, is being developed. The V-Box is an intelligent control unit that not only communicates between truck and trailer, but also enables vehicles to communicate with other road users, infrastructure and networks. This V2X communication stands for ‘Vehicle-to-Everything’ communication. Trailers, which have so far been a passive part of the vehicle, are equipped with intelligence. The project is not only focused on technical applications, but also on a good access to the information to the driver and to the fleet manager.
