Autonomous AI for Cancer Detection Image interpretation for the (early) diagnosis of breast cancer (mammography) and lung cancer (thoracoscopy) is too error-prone and labour-intensive. To solve this problem, ScreenPoint Medical, Thirona and RUMC are joining forces with the aim of developing generic AI software that can be used autonomously (where possible and desirable) to improve and accelerate the (early) diagnosis of (breast and lung) cancer through image interpretation, without compromising on transparency and control (the doctor remains the decision-maker). Concrete results: • Advanced quality control tools that make AI steps transparent; • An autonomous AI detection algorithm for early breast cancer diagnosis; • Autonomous AI algorithms for the routing and guidance of biopsies with a bronchoscope. By developing the AI autonomously, it can operate without the intervention of a doctor, while providing insight into decision-making (preventing black box problem).share on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
