Småland and the islands have low start-ups, low internationalisation, low knowledge content, small industry width, weak growth and low profitability in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Business needs to be broadened by, among other things, increasing the number of service- and knowledge-intensive companies. Gotland is a distinct market with limited purchasing power, which is why there is a need to reach larger markets both nationally and internationally. The goal of the project is that SMEs on Gotland have strengthened their innovation and competitiveness and willingness to grow through increased knowledge and skills in innovation development, talent attraction and talent development, as well as market establishment and market expansion. The support will be offered through three work packages based on the three needs for increased knowledge about innovation development, skills supply and skills development as well as faster market establishment and market expansion.
