The project will contribute to increased competitiveness and sustainability of 17 SMEs. This is done through feasibility studies and the development of new concepts for robot-based automation. Robot-based automation is, and will be, a very important component in strengthening SMEs' competitiveness and their ability to maintain production in Sweden. The project will thus contribute to solving several of the challenges within Smart Industry. The new concepts for robot-based automation developed in the project involve the implementation of new work processes, increasing competence in automation and digitalisation, and contributing to increased adaptability based on increased efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability. Projects are well in line with the ÖMS Smart Industry Roadmap, as well as the regional growth strategies for Smart Specialisation in Västmanland (A strong and sustainable business community), Sörmland (Advanced manufacturing) and Örebro County (Intelligent production systems).
