Tests of vehicles in winter climate have been conducted since 1967 in the municipalities of Arjeplog and Arvidsjaur. An activity that deals with the testing and testing of vehicles and components under severe winter conditions. Vehicles and components are transported to and from the area mainly on trucks, by road. As the test industry has developed into a major activity in the area, so has transport. Today, everything from individual vehicles to vehicle components and entire fleets of vehicles are transported. The aim of the project is to investigate the conditions for shifting the majority of the vehicle testing industry's freight transports that are currently made on the road to rail. During the preliminary study, a transport system will be developed that is environmentally sustainable but that can also show a safer and more economically advantageous transport solution is the one used today.
