A technological shift is needed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from existing cement production. In this proposed project, Heidelberg Materials Cement Sverige AB (formerly Cementa AB) and Chalmers University of Technology AB are starting an ongoing collaboration to create new diagnostic equipment for greatly improved control of product quality and energy efficiency in plasma-based cement production on a pilot scale. Directly involving key competencies in operation and production in the development work is central to achieving an effective implementation of new technology. In this project, a team with the core competencies needed for research and process development of plasma-based cement production is created in close collaboration between Heidelberg Materials Cement Sweden and Chalmers. The team has cutting-edge expertise in production, energy technology, R&D and product quality, electricity and measurement technology.
