Sweden's energy system is changing rapidly. The climate transition increases electricity demand and requires the expansion of renewable electricity generation and grids with sufficient transmission capacity. In Jönköping County, with very energy-intensive industry, the need for a reliable and sustainable energy system is as much about the competitiveness of the business sector as it is about the climate transition. The county's municipalities, with their planning monopoly and together with their energy companies, need to take leadership in the matter and ensure that climate and energy goals are translated into decisions and investments that enable both the public and private energy transition. At the same time, collaboration between public and private actors is needed to find, for example, innovative ways to reduce the load on the electricity grid and store energy. In order to achieve the necessary effort, the project invests in knowledge enhancements, analytical data, internal mobilization, collaboration and increased innovation. The target group is municipalities, energy companies, and in some parts the business sector.
