Post Norm Supersulfated Cement

The project will further develop and combine two different internationally renowned cement technologies to thereby offer the Swedish market a cement with an ultra-low CO2 footprint. The new cement will be an alternative to Portland cement in the majority of available concrete applications and is also adapted to specific Swedish needs. The project is based on two internationally existing and well-documented binders, both of which are relatively unknown in the Swedish construction industry: CemVision's Belitic Calcium Sulfo Aluminate cement (BCSA) and SuperSulfat cement (SSC). These two cements can be produced using industrial residual materials primarily from the metal industry, where the carbon dioxide has already been driven away in the original process. The project will also develop unique technology to use up to 90% of the residual materials from the steel and metal industry as cement, which provides a significantly higher environmental and economic benefit compared to current use or landfill of the slag.
