Over the past 40 years, Sweden has had a situation where electricity demand and power outlets have remained more or less constant at the same level. The increasing electrification together with the energy transition that is taking place puts a major strain on the electricity system. Electricity grid capacity is currently a limiting factor for growth and residential construction. A developed collaboration for early dialogue between network owners and local and regional business development and community planning functions is important to lay the foundation for strategic network development throughout Eastern Central Sweden. The project will help address existing challenges by contributing to: *Development of coordinated and efficient planning for the expansion of electricity grid infrastructure *Development of planning for increased production of fossil-free energy *Increased knowledge of measures that contribute to increased user flexibility and a more efficient use of energy.
