Sweden and our region have the goal of being climate neutral by 2050. Resource-efficient use of blue and green natural resources (e.g. water and forests) as well as residual streams from forests, agriculture, the food industry are crucial in the roadmap towards this. Central Norrland has a unique opportunity to contribute with the processing of industrial residual streams (e.g. forest industry) to key resilient value chains in food, feed, biochemicals, biomaterials and biofuel. The problem is that too few companies are active in the region to achieve the objectives of the blue and green transition. The project goal is increased growth of the region's bioeconomy companies and better conditions for more bioeconomy companies to be established in the region. This can be achieved by more efficient access to networks, infrastructure, expertise and funding for needs-driven R&D in a dynamic cluster and innovation environment for the region's businesses.
