The construction and real estate sector accounts for one-fifth of Sweden's total greenhouse gas emissions. The emissions consist of the buildings' energy use, the choice of building materials and the buildings' interaction with local energy systems. This entails the need for broad knowledge that spans many areas and different professional categories. Technology is developing rapidly, not least linked to digitalisation and the energy community to share energy between buildings. In order to achieve Sweden's climate goals and contribute to meeting the sustainability goals of Agenda 2030, broader knowledge and increased exchange of experience are required. Within Östra Mellansverige there are a number of networks in the real estate industry, which constitute collaborative arenas for the exchange of experience and increased knowledge. With awareness-raising activities and good examples, more property owners can do more together. The aim of the project is to contribute to a more energy-efficient, climate-smart and innovative construction and real estate industry in Eastern Central Sweden. The activities are designed in close dialogue with the industry.
