Increased capacity - Phase 1 The project enables transport according to the needs of the companies and develops the port in accordance with the timeline that prevails for several of the new green industrial investments. The port should be ready to receive incoming and outgoing transport by rail/road to sea and vice versa already in 2026. There is a growing demand for intermodal transport solutions in favour of maritime transport. Forecasts show that the Port of Luleå will go from 8 million tonnes of goods per year to 30 million tonnes by 2030 thanks to the large industrial investments that are now taking place. The aim of the project Increased Capacity Phase 1 is to facilitate the transition between different modes of transport in the Port of Luleå through the construction of two new road connections that lead down to Victoria Harbour and the dry bulk quay. The infrastructure to be built will have a TEN-T classification when the constructions are completed.share on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
