Today, there is strong support for SMEs in foodtech in the incubation phase, but there is no support in the upscaling phase, so few grow medium-sized. Increasing electricity, transport and raw material costs combined with declining purchasing power and reduced access to external capital make the situation even more challenging. This application builds on identified needs in a previous project, Foodtech Innovation Network, together with insights into the current situation. The aim of the project is to support the target group in creating sustainable business models, in raising capital, market access and with relevant knowledge, especially in food technology. In three years' time, the initiative is expected to contribute to 170 jobs. In the medium term, the initiative contributes to the growth of medium-sized foodtech companies. In the long term, the regions' position as a centre for innovative foodtech is strengthened and the project contributes to creating a more sustainable, healthy and resilent food system.
