As a result of the industrial investments and business establishment taking place in the region, the development of Luleå Industrial Park - Hertsöfältet is underway. At present, the transport infrastructure in the area in question is not designed to cope with the increased commuting of work to the industrial area in the factories that enable the green transition of the industry. The purpose of the project is to carry out a new walk and cycle path out to the new industrial area that connects with already existing cycle paths, it also allows commuting work based on the cycle path connected with the railway and bus station. That is, you can commute by train or bus to central Luleå and then cycle out to the workplace. This will result in increased accessibility and increased road safety. At the societal level, the project contributes to creating the conditions for the industry's green transition in Norrbotten.
