Uppsala Municipality's building reuse project aims to pave the way for a large-scale, activated reuse chain in Uppsala, where the storage and retransmission of reused materials and the provision of ancillary services are mainly carried out by private operators, in particular by small and medium-sized enterprises. To this extent, the activities of the project will focus on: - promote market participants' conditions for circular and climate-positive construction, including through the development and streamlining of the municipal policy framework - increase market participants' knowledge of circular business models and the role of circular material flows in the construction sector of the future. - promote market participants' involvement in Uppsala's recycling chain. - promote the supply of expertise to Uppsala's circular construction and real estate sector. - enable the testing and development of practical market solutions in a physical test bed for interim storage. The project will be conducted in close collaboration with the Uppsala Climate Protocol.
