New Space is a concept that has emerged in recent decades and represents a new dynamic in the space sector where private companies are increasingly contributing to the creation of both new high tech and deep tech for space activities, as well as the creation of new companies based on space technology with solutions used in society and business. This is possible due to successes in digitalisation, simplified and cheaper access to the space sector. There are currently very few New Space companies in Sweden, but the sector is dominated by the United States. Many European countries want to establish a position. In Sweden, there is an infrastructure in the form of an ESA incubator with four Swedish incubators, but without funding for collaboration. The project will therefore develop new forms of collaboration for the four Swedish nodes. A close-knit Swedish innovation environment can, in collaboration with space actors such as ESA, industrial partners and venture capital, position Sweden as a strong player in Europe and take part in the growth that is expected to occur within New Space.
