SEKK - Smart Electrical Systems in Kalmar and Kronoberg County

The ongoing energy transition is expected to cause a sharp increase in electricity consumption, which poses challenges in terms of access to electricity and utilization of the electricity system. An uncertain external situation and society's increasing dependence on electricity mean that reliable electricity supply during elevated preparedness needs to be secured. To address these challenges, the project works across sectors by initiating dialogues between different actors, awareness-raising initiatives such as trainings and study visits, and analyses of the current situation and future needs in electricity supply. This is expected to lead to a common understanding and improved cooperation between the target groups public sector, electricity producers, electricity network owners and companies, which facilitates and accelerates investments in fossil-free electricity production, resource-efficient use of the electricity system and strengthens the competitiveness of the counties. The project contributes to enabling future increased electricity use as well as a stable electricity system that is flexible in everyday life and resilient in crisis and war.
