The project is one of four projects that together, in the long term, will contribute to increased port capacity in the region by producing all the necessary documentation to be able to procure and start the production of dredging and construction of a new quay adjacent to the existing port in Kalix. This is to meet the region's business needs for increased maritime transport. The activities in the project will produce the necessary documentation for dredging and handling of dredging masses and construction of a new quay, as well as the necessary documentation for describing how the production phase will affect the environment. The planned casting building will double the capacity of the current port.
