In the central parts of Jakobsberg, biodiversity is low and competition for land is high. With expected future densification, the need for measures that strengthen and develop biodiversity is important. Within the Jakobsberg district, there are large socio-economic differences between residential areas and several physical barriers that contribute to the perception that areas are separated from each other. Developing Kvarnbacken as a green oasis in the middle of the city with increased biodiversity and various activities and meeting places will contribute to a more attractive and sustainable environment in Jakobsberg. Through free activities that attract movement and outdoor living, the project can promote public health and reduce health inequalities between different groups in society. The project takes into account both physical and social factors. Through an integrated approach that takes into account different needs and perspectives, we can create a more inclusive and sustainable urban environment for all residents.
