The pre-study aims to create a clearer understanding of micro-credentials and their potential for strengthened skills provision, skills development and lifelong learning, and to identify the needs, opportunities and conditions of different actors to work further with the development of micro-credentials in Skåne. Micro-credentials are a way of documenting and quality-assuring delimited learning efforts in smaller, independent and transparent "modules" and are highlighted as an opportunity to identify employers' skills needs, increase matching, promote employee skills development and business transformation, broaden recruitment, strengthen validation and individual skills portfolios. The development of micro-credentials has so far mainly taken place within the EU as well as at national level. The aim of the preliminary study is to create a basis for future implementation projects within ESF+ PO A1. The documentation will consist of a mapping and proposals in the form of prototype(s)/visualization of the implementation of micro-credentials in Skåne.
