The labour market in Norrbotten is good and new large establishments taking place in the local area lead to increased competition for labour. Since there are already challenges in recruiting trained staff in the care sector, Boden municipality needs to train more people to work in the care sector. In order to increase the skills of untrained staff and maintain good quality in social services units, Boden municipality needs to streamline the educational pathways into the care profession through workplace-based learning and validation of competences.
