Work for community, cooperation in Eskilstuna

The skills supply challenge is one of the biggest obstacles to growth in the Swedish labour market. The purpose of the project Work for community, cooperation in Eskilstuna is for Arbetsförmedlingen and Eskilstuna Municipality to jointly create a structured cooperation model. The model should help to make people in the target group accessible to the current labour market and thereby better meet employers' needs for trained and competent staff. The project's goal is to create and implement a collaboration model where the Public Employment Service and the municipality work together to move resource-poor individuals to be matchable to work, regular education, alternatively labour market education or the Public Employment Service's procured efforts such as Career Guidance (KVL), Steps to Work (STA) and Rusta och matcha. Due to limited knowledge of the Swedish language and other skills shortages, a large part of the foreign-born who are enrolled at the Swedish Public Employment Service are not available for the Swedish Public Employment Service's procured services, often due to a complexity of the underlying causes. The project will, through increased local presence of Arbetsförmedlingen, in collaboration with Eskilstuna municipality and any independent actors, combine and work up methods to identify the problems of the target group. The work is done in co-planning and thus gives the individuals the prerequisite for step transfer to become available for the Swedish Public Employment Service's procured services and interventions. The goal is that the individual should be able to take advantage of existing efforts to more easily reach the labour market and thus become self-sufficient.
