The municipality of Botkyrka has sought support from the European Social Fund (ESF) to combat child poverty and segregation through a project that focuses on supporting young adults aged 18-29 from socio-economically vulnerable areas. The project, run by the Culture and Leisure Administration, aims to use creative industries as a tool to promote participants' well-being and increase their opportunities for work or further study. Through mentoring, motivational conversations, and education in culture, as well as various activities such as study visits and public education efforts, the project aims to create an inclusive environment where participants can develop their skills and thus approach work or study. In addition, the project focuses on establishing a long-term organisational and collaboration structure to ensure that support for young adults continues even after the end of the project. By offering complementary competences and preparations in cultural and artistic fields, as well as by working with inclusive forms of education, the project aims to reduce socio-economic gaps and promote a more equal development of society in Botkyrka.
