The project is carried out by the municipalities of Arjeplog and Arvidsjaur in Norrbotten County and Dorotea, Lycksele, Malå, Norsjö, Sorsele, Storuman, Vilhelmina and Åsele in Västerbotten County with Sorsele Municipality as project owner. All municipalities are located in northern Sweden's sparsely populated areas and are characterized by the challenges of sparsely populated areas with long distances, difficult-to-move and gender-segregated labour markets, a lower level of education than the rest of the country and a decrease in population. The shortage of available labour and skills is palpable and demographic analyses show that the shortage will be even worse in the near future. At the same time, there is great competition for labour with the major investments in the green transition in northern Sweden. Through collaboration and a proactive approach to attracting people from the rest of Sweden and other parts of the world to our region, helping them with the relocation process and into both working life and social contexts, we want to help improve the situation for individuals and society and create a more sustainable supply of skills for our private and public employers in Region 10 by helping people to employment in our region. The local target group for the project is both private and public employers with a need to hire. The external target group is people of working age who have an interest in, for example, a rich outdoor life, safe and calm environments and good upbringing for children. By simultaneously attracting new residents and working to improve our own recipient capacity in municipalities, business and civil society, we will create the conditions for achieving the project goal.
