Mission-driven work to increase school attendance

The aim of the project is, through cross-sectoral mission-driven work, and the active participation of children and their guardians, to develop needs-based methods for early and coordinating efforts to reduce study interruptions and prevent individuals from ending up in exclusion in the long term. In the initial phase of the project, co-financiers, collaborators and other stakeholders are mobilised to formulate a common measurable mission aimed at increasing school attendance. Based on the method Steps to protect, the project will provide preventive and needs-appropriate support to children and young people from 13 years and up, who have or are at risk of ending up in problematic school absence through individual support/coaching, psychosocial support and health promotion activities. Together with the co-financing municipalities Högsby and Nybro, RF SISU Småland and other local non-profit actors, we will continuously work with dialogue and learning to identify obstacles and pathways for more coherent support for the target group. The project Mission-driven work for increased school attendance in Kalmar County creates an arena to be able to highlight system errors and treat these cross-sectoral based on the individual's needs through a strategic collaboration group and operational working group in each participating municipality.
