This is an application for support based on the Programme Area A1-Prestudy Competence development for professionals in Upper Norrland, 23-054, which will concern Lapplandsgymnasium Pajala. Pajala upper secondary school in Lapland is located in a sparsely populated inland, where after major retirements there are major challenges in terms of skills provision in the municipality's upper secondary school. Not having the "right" skills in upper secondary school can have major consequences, not only for students, but also for society outside, which is in great need of competent new members of society to develop during their time at Lapland's upper secondary school Pajala. To counteract this, we want to conduct a preliminary study in the form of a survey where the purpose is to maintain and utilize the skills currently available at the school, but also to increase the skills and knowledge at Lapland's upper secondary school Pajala and thereby lay the foundation for lifelong learning and a more long-term development for everyone regardless of socioeconomics, age, gender and possible functional variations.
