The Salvation Army's support and integration project is aimed at unemployed women and men who are covered by the EU's mass exodus directive from Stockholm, Skövde and Karlstad. The project is built on the needs and experiences of the target group from the CARE:EU centres job integration project funded by CARE – Actions for women and men from Ukraine covered by the Mass Refuge Directive: 2022/00317. The project aims to counteract the risk of passivity and social exclusion by strengthening the target group's ability to be socially involved and create conditions for self-sufficiency. The aim of the project is to offer support to 200 people from the target group in order to strengthen their position in the labour market and move closer to the labour market. Participants in the project will take part in equipping and matching efforts, language support and teaching, as well as motivational conversations and coaching. Experience from the work with the target group has shown that some people choose to move to other countries within the EU and that many travel between Sweden, Poland and Ukraine. The vulnerability of the target group leads to high risks of exploitation and human trafficking or even worse situations. Therefore, the project will develop a method for support to returnees and move to other countries through the Salvation Army's international activities and specifically the Salvation Army's activities in Poland, Germany and Ukraine. Other activities in the project are designed based on the individual's needs, abilities and situation and in line with the horizontal principles: equality, accessibility and equal treatment. The project will work actively with collaboration with actors who can complement the project's efforts such as: post-employment support, health promotion activities and linking to care.
