Digitalisation and artificial intelligence, AI, affect all industries. Society and the world of work are facing a transformation that will change the way we live and work. It will in one way or another affect all employees and all workplaces, both in terms of processes and business opportunities. Even the companies that are doing well today can quickly gain fierce global competition if they do not develop their offerings. Employee skills are the foundation for success in this. This means that everyone needs to develop their skills. Lifelong learning will not only be an opportunity but a necessity. It will be crucial for both individuals and companies to keep up with the developments related to digitalisation and artificial intelligence. SMEs are often less able to organise skills development themselves and it is therefore important to facilitate and enable their employees to benefit from qualified skills development. Developed digital skills can provide individuals with skills that better meet the needs of the labour market. Many small and medium-sized companies in the manufacturing industry and tech sector in Östergötland today lack the right and sufficient skills to fully meet the rapid technological development in terms of smart and secure digitization. This risks impairing opportunities for both companies and employees. With this project, we want to increase individuals' digital skills for companies' competitiveness. The aim of the project is to - Increase the digital skills of participating men, women and non-binary working at small and medium-sized companies in the manufacturing industry or tech sector in Östergötland. - Strengthen participants' ability to take responsibility for their lifelong learning. Strengthen the skills of older employees. Increase the digital maturity of women. - Increase the digital maturity of participating companies. - Enhancing qualified digital skills of participating companies. - Enhance the capacity of participating companies to work strategically on skills provision. - Enhance collaborative structures around academic skills development for employees in SMEs in the manufacturing and tech sectors. In the project, 450 women and 1150 men will receive qualified skills development in Power Skills and Smart and Secure Digitalization. 50 SMEs in manufacturing and will be supported to work more strategically on skills provision. Actions will have an integrated approach that promotes workplace learning and the individual's capacity for lifelong learning. The course structure will vary between digital teacher-led lessons and fully digital courses combined with work in a study group. The study group creates participation by involving employees at different levels and is important for creating lasting learning in the individual and in the workplace. It is also possible to work with your own case and thus immediately start translating the new knowledge. Study groups will have support from teachers and project management if needed. STEP 1: The first step is about support for companies to work more strategically with skills supply and that employees' skills are mapped with a focus on digital skills and interests. STEP 2: The second stage begins with an introductory lecture as a starting point for the more in-depth parts. This is followed by a module focusing on the important power skills with Learning in the Workplace, Self-Leadership and Business Intelligence as themes.. STEP 3: The third stage comprises six modules on different topics in Smart and Secure Digitalisation: Digital Competence, Automation, Cybersecurity, Fundamentals of AI, Fundamentals of Programming, and Technology and Ethics. The design of the interventions has been determined on the basis of analyses of the skills needs of small and medium-sized enterprises in specific sectors and the needs of the target group. The themes and content of the modules have been chosen based on needs identified in the studies and pre-study that preceded this application. The content will be adapted to the reality of employees and management in small and medium-sized enterprises and will contain different tasks based on prior knowledge or professional role. Therefore, it is possible for everyone to participate. Gender equality, accessibility and non-discrimination will be integrated into the implementation of the project in different ways. This includes ensuring that participation in skills development is fairly distributed among different groups, so that no one is discriminated against on the basis of, for example, gender or age. The horizontal principles will also run as a common thread through the tasks that individuals and study groups will work on.
