The power of Malmö

In Malmökraften, the Public Employment Service, the City of Malmö, the Social Insurance Agency, primary care and psychiatry in Region Skåne and FINSAM in Malmö work together to reduce the long-term unemployment that has become entrenched due to matching problems between employers and existing employees in Malmö, low level of education, the gap for unemployed people on sick leave who do not meet the criteria for enhanced cooperation, inequality between women and men regarding labour market interventions and ill health. Around 47 employees from the parties move together in common premises and work together in multi-skilled teams. During the investment, the teams will have contact with 1,300 long-term unemployed Malmö residents. The goal is for at least 45% to go to work and 10% to go to regular education or SFI. Malmökraften will work with a method based on reflective practice from Vaeksthuset's research center with a focus on the belief in the ability of the participants and a prototype developed through service design together with participants in Malmökraften 2.0 "A meeting where you look for jobs with participants!" Malmökraften's ambition is, at the organizational level, to introduce and disseminate a model that Arbetsförmedlingen, Försäkringskassan and Sweden's regions and municipalities can use to jointly handle the challenges of meeting people who have been outside the labour market for a long time and get them back to work.
