SUMMARY Many young people face difficulties in the transition from school to work, in particular young people with low education, young people in socio-economically vulnerable areas and young people with disabilities. The proportion of pupils in year 9 who have achieved the knowledge requirements in all subjects (students registered in the municipality) is lower in our three municipalities Haninge, Nynäshamn and Tyresö than the average in the county. The proportion of young people with problematic school absenteeism, the proportion who have not completed upper secondary education within four years, long-term unemployed young people, and the proportion of UVAS is higher than the average in the county. The project application meets the ambitions and expected results of the call. The project will contribute to improved living conditions, reduced financial vulnerability, reduced unemployment and reduced sick leave for the target group young people who are at risk of not starting or completing upper secondary education. Transitions from school to work will be simplified and shortened so that more young people are included in working life and society. The project increases the possibility of an inclusive and sustainable working life for all. The project focuses on people who are at risk of poverty or social exclusion in the long term and people who are at risk of being excluded from the labour market. The expected impacts at societal level are in line with most development goals within Agenda 2030 and RUFS 2050. The project's collaborating actors are the municipalities in Haninge, Nynäshamn and Tyresö, Arbetsförmedlingen and Region Stockholm/WeMind young adult psychiatry. The coordination association Östra Södertörn is an aid applicant. The main aim of SATSA is to reduce the proportion of young people with problematic school absenteeism so that more young people start or complete upper secondary education. A basic goal of the project is to implement enhanced support in the school environment that contributes to the reduction of the proportion of young people with problematic school absences in our three municipalities. This includes implementing successful working methods and functions, increasing knowledge of the target group's needs and conditions, and developing new collaboration structures that can live on and contribute to clearer transitions between school and working life. Overall, these elements are expected to contribute to a more equal, accessible and inclusive school. The project idea is to develop strengthened support in studies that can be implemented and that will get more young people to start and complete their upper secondary studies. The target group will be offered enhanced guidance and support based on the Supported Education method. The support will be provided through coaches who will be available in the municipalities' upper secondary schools. Coaches should consist of different professions such as study and career counsellors and occupational therapists. Coaches will, when needed, be able to take the support of a joint curator. All three functions will work together and based on the method but have different orientations. Study and career counsellors will work to provide support in choosing, obtaining and completing goals in education. The occupational therapists will work with obstacles and adaptations in relation to the study environment and activity conditions. The counselor will provide support regarding mental illness and/or psychosocial problems and be able to link to other care interventions. The coaches in SATSA will work together with students and guardians; and in close collaboration with the schools' student health team and study and career counsellors. It will be the school health team that connects the support from the coaches. During the project, the coaches are expected to work with about 30-40 students per year in each municipality. During the project period, the goal is to have supported 150 women and 150 men, a total of 300 young people. The work will be developed and followed up in collaboration with the project's researchers/evaluators. The project will lead to staff meeting young people gaining an increased knowledge of the needs and conditions of the target group as well as of underlying causal factors that interact such as poverty, violence, parents' level of education, discrimination and ill health. The staff's ability to support the target group to succeed in school should be promoted through increased knowledge of the method Supported Education. All upper secondary schools in the municipalities will be offered work-life-oriented measures aimed at giving students more knowledge about working life and the current labour market situation. Information should also be given about roads and opportunities after high school. The efforts are made in collaboration between the Swedish Public Employment Service, the municipal activity responsibility, the municipalities' labour
